However, the problem is still not cured. I went to Tools, Options, and on the View tab there is indeed "spaces" and "paragraphs". Rather to my surprise they were already unchecked, but to make sure I checked them. No joy. So I unchecked them again. Still no joy. Anyone else got any bright ideas? John. ----- Original Message ----- From: RMPortal To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2007 8:07 AM Subject: [jaws-uk] R: Word problem Dear John, I seem to remember there is a hot key to toggle the showing of space and paragraph markers on and off but sadly can't remember what it is. You can get rid of it anyway by going to Tools and selecting Options. Find View options and tab down until you get to the entries dealing with paragraph and space markers and uncheck them, press OK and they should be gone. Best wishes Robert -----Messaggio originale----- Da: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Per conto di John Savage Inviato: martedì 3 luglio 2007 8.35 A: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Oggetto: [jaws-uk] Word problem Hello list, an ex work colleague of mine has sorted various problems I was having, but must have altered a setting, because Word is now behaving most oddly. Every line has a "paragraph marker" (dots 1-4-5-8), and when I type space it produces a "space marker" (dots 3-7). The worst thing about this is that when I read line by line, JAWS announces every space marker, plus the paragraph marker. I have tried each view on the View menu, with no effect. Please can someone advise me how to get Word back to producing normal spaces, and get rid of the paragraph markers. Using Word 2003 and JAWS 7. TIA, John. __________ Informazione NOD32 2372 (20070703) __________ Questo messaggio è stato controllato dal Sistema Antivirus NOD32 http://www.nod32.it
