Hi there,

I've also noticed some strange issues since updating to the latest version.

I'm using Jaws 11 with Outlook 2003. 2 main issues occur from time to time:

1. If I open a message and quite quickly cursor up to cut out the header
information from being spoken, I often experience total silence. If,
however, I open the message and pause a little longer, before pressing the
up arrow, it then clips the header verbiage and reads the top line of the
text properly.

2. I have, on two or three occasions experienced a kind of ghost effect
within emails. For example, I open one message and read it successfully. I
then close the message and cursor to a different message, press Enter and
open it, I then hear the text of the first message being spoken. It's
almost as if the memory allocated for storing messages hasn't been cleared
properly. I normally get round the problem by closing Outlook and
re-launching it but it is a real pain.

Hi Guys

Also when going in to my Unread Mail folder with Outlook, before the update
it read the columns as they were laid out, subject, sender, date and folder
and since the update it now reads the subject line last!

To me it seems that this update has created more problems.

Also when in say Money Talks, it is reading info from the last email folder
I was in, and only unloading and restarting Jaws solves this problem!

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

Until I received Larry's reply, I, too, would have possibly thought that
Office 2000 was a little antiquated for the latest Jaws version to support,
but then, and I'm sure you've seen his message, he says he has the very
latest spec, and experiences the very same problems.

So what, I wonder, would Tristram's answer to him be?

I also find it very difficult to believe that an intermediate update would
cause such a dramatic problem.

With very best wishes,

Keith

Keith

I also run XP Home with the latest JAWS update and Office 2000.

I have experienced problems in a particular Word document that did not occur

before the latest update. The file has headings and bullet points etc. These

are being identified but not the text.

Tristram from Sight and Sound indicated that it is probably because Office
2000 is too old to be fully supported by Freedom Scientific.

I have been able to get round the problem by opening the file in WordPad -
of course the structure of the document is lost but at least it is readable.
