Hi Darren. When I upgraded my Windows XP 32-bit machine from JAWS 12 beta to
JAWS 12 full release earlier in the day, it worked like a dream from the
JAWS updates screen.

Cheers.

John

I'm pretty sure you need to uninstall the beta and treat the v12 release as
a new install.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Problem Upgrading from JAWS 12 Beta to JAWS 12 Release

Hi. I run Windows XP Pro 64-bit, and had JAWS beta build 491/492 installed.
This evening I tried to update to the full release version, build 512, using
the Check for Updates feature. The package is shown on the updates screen as
being 97.6MB.

The installation appeared to go like clockwork, but after rebooting as
requested, It is still the beta version that's active. And the Check for
Updates dialog also popped up immediately.

I've looked at c:\program files\freedom scientific\jaws\12.0, and the folder
has the date and time at which I performed the update.

I guess I can uninstall V12, download the executable and reinstall it, but
would prefer to know what has gone wrong. Any suggestions would be much
appreciated.

Many thanks.

John
