Hi Kevin, Since my previous post, I've realised that it's only when you open a link to listen live, rather than to listen again, on the BBC website that there's a problem. I think this is because for listening live, the bbc use an embedded realplayer, rather than the usual flash player. This makes sense, as the talking computers website have had exactly this problem. As dorothy has said, you'll need the latest version of realplayer, which is 11.1.1, and a link to the download is: http://tinyurl.com/3aff4u Once that is installed, you'll still have to use the work around of turning off virtual pc cursor mode, as described in my previous post. David. previous message: Hi Kevin, This problem occurs when running IE8 and Jaws, but doesn't occur when running Window Eyes or NVDA, so it is an incompatibility between Jaws and IE8. There is a work around until the problem is fixed: before you open a link which opens the iplayer, switch off the virtual pc cursor by pressing insert + z. So on a page which contains a listen live link: 1. press insert + z, to switch off the virtual pc cursor. 2. press insert + f7 for the links list, and open the listen live link. 3. a new window should open and start playing. 4. you can press insert + z to turn the virtual pc cursor back on.
