[jaws-uk] Re: PROBLEMS IN ACCESSING WWW.TIMESONLINE.CO.UK

I did contact them to get on the free service and they did a good workaround
for me to avoid using the kaptcha. But I am not interested in paying for
their services now as there are and will continue to be free news services
elsewhere in cyber space.

Registering with the skynews website seems to be a bit of a problem and they
don't even bother replying to emails so that's stuffed that one, I guess
although the regular site seems ok with jaws 11.

With kind regards,
Alan

I missed your original post, but read your last email with interest.
Just after the new Times online site was launched, I dropped them a friendly
email to explain some of the accessibility difficulties I'd experienced.

I mentioned that they needed to think about these issues anyway, but
if they were expecting people to pay for online content, they really should
think about their approach. They replied to say that my "comments had been
noted". Not particularly impressed I must say. If I find time I'll follow
up, but thought I'd share this in case others had tried to contact them
before.

Léonie.

Thanks all. I did register on the Times website but its now telling me that
it does not recognise either the e-mail with which I registered or my
password. I'm in communication with them attempting to resolve the problem
but I'm becoming increasingly tempted to subscribe via the Talking
Newspapers Association. This is a shame as the mainstream media should be
totally accessible without the need to use specialist organisations.

Kind regards,

Kevin
