Hi

I've now discovered that the problem of not being able to acced the
Times Online stems from me having registered on www.timesonline.co.uk
which has (in the last few days been closed down), rather than having
registered on www.thetimes.co.uk. I registered, yesterday over the
telephone, on the correct website.

As you say the site leaves a lot to be desired. On attempting to
register you are presented with a visual captcha (with no audio
alternative) which Jaws is unable to read. On my first registration
(with www.timesonline.co.uk) I was, eventually able to solve the
captcha with the aid of the Firefox plug-in Webvisum but it took a
number of attempts to do this. I hope that you and others will follow
up with the Times on the accessibility issues. I did e-mail them, over
the captcha issue and was told that they would look into it.

I guess that this thread should now be closed as it is in danger of
straying from Jaws issues into accessibility matters more generally.

Regards,

Kevin
