Hi Steve,

I'm using MS Office 2016 and Outlook 2016. Not sure how much difference
Office 365 is but probably not much.

It's very frustrating as all was working fine. Definitely a case of don't
fix what ain't broke!

The only thing I've done is a JAWS update. I'm not sure if an update to
Outlook 2016 has occurred but I've not actively forced one.

The auto complete is definitely working but JAWS is just not speaking
anything other than what you actually type in the address fields.

Yes you seem to be able to arrow up and down any addresses but JAWS won't
speak until you hit enter on one. However, of course you've no idea of
what's been selected.

Have tried a JAWS repair and this made no difference.

Have tried renaming the default config file and restarting JAWS/PC. Again it
didn't help.

Although weirdly I can temporarily fix the issue with JAWS default settings
but not when running normally. I shutdown JAWS and then run it again. I then
go back to my inbox. This does fix the issue but it doesn't last long. I
might be able to send about 2 emails afterwards if lucky with the auto
complete function working, but that's it and it's gone again.

It's odd and in a way glad it's not just me. Something has gone wrong
somewhere though.

If you discover anything please let me know. Also if I find a solution I'll
let you know.

Many thanks - Sue.

Hi Sue

I've just got back from holiday and discovered a JAWS update and a massive
update to office 365. Unfortunately this means that I cannot tell whether it
is changes to JAWS or changes to Office that have caused the Auto complete
on email addresses not to announce the address. It seems to work in much the
same way and as you said in your later email you can change the selection by
using the arrow keys. I haven't yet worked out how to get these addresses
spoken without first pressing enter. Something has definitely changed.

One good change is that the spellchecker has been improved considerably and
is now much easier to use and far more reliable for a JAWS user.

I will experiment with the auto completion and come back if I find anything.

Steve

Subject: [jaws-uk] Outlook 2016

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of JAWS with Outlook 2016

When sending a message and putting in a name or email address from my
contacts . I could type an S for example and it would show me a list of
names/email starting with an S. I could then move up and down this list. I
could also type more than an S and could start to type the name Sandra for
instance and the email address would be filled in. I then just pressed enter
if I wanted to select it.

Anyway, when I now type a letter in the to or cc fields I get no choices at
all and is only show what I actually time in.

Why has this stopped working and how do I get it back? Does anyone have any
ideas?

Many thanks - Sue.
