Hi Keith,

I presume you are talking about "Word" so here we go.

To disable the office assistant for good, do the following

Press Alt H to open the help menu, and look for "Hide Office Assistant", then press Enter. if you find "Show Office Assistant" instead then you have already fixed it.

There is no need to delete any files.

Regards,

Michael.

Hi all,

Could someone please remind me which keystroke temporarily removes the
Office Assistant in Word 2000, and also which file to delete as a permanent
measure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Keith
