Hi.

Any company that asks for passwords, pins etc are not legit.

Under no circumstances talk to anyone that asks for that type of information.

Regardless of whether you're blind or not.

Cheers
Darren

  All,

With apologies for an off topic post. This is so concerning I hope it will
be excused. We should all be aware of this sort of worrying behaviour.

I heard of it from a trusted source, so believe it to be true.

  Ken

As duty worker today, I've received a VPR about an incident on Tues evening
28/4 where a visually impaired client has been targeted and been tricked out of
a substantial sum.

At 5:50pm they received a convincing call from someone saying they were from
Bank of Scotland, saying they had an improved card for customers who were
Visually Impaired. He then asked the person to give details including pin, over
the phone and said a courier would call to collect the card which she should
put in an envelope. While she was still on the phone, the door bell rang, and
it was the "courier". By the time they checked with the bank the next morning
they'd taken £7500!

The man on the phone spoke in a manner which suggested affluence/businessman
and spoke with a Scottish accent. The "courier" was possibly eastern European
in late 20s,5' 3", slim built wearing navy trousers and long sleeved navy
fleece with unknown logo on left breast, and wearing a dark woolly hat. He was
in a large white car.
