That rather depends on whcih operating system you are asking about if you
want a precise location. For Windows 2000/XP users it wouild be something
like this:

"c:\documents and settings\MyName\Desktop"
Where "MyName" is the username profile folder under which your information
is stored.

For Windows 9x it's something like "c:\windows\desktop" in standa alone mode
but I cannot honestly remember.

Hi Tom

If using XP
Hit windows Key d or windows key m for desktop
Press F5 so no items are selected on desktop
Press Context menu key (left of control on the right-hand side) or shift F10
and press w for new and f for folder
Type the folder name followed by enter

Is there a way to guarentee you land on a blank spot on the desk top to
create a new folder.

Usually hit one, but, bouncing arround with jaws at moment.
