Can you also confirm that MSE and Windows Defender do different jobs and are not going to end up fighting with each other. My understanding is that MSE is just an anti virus software whereas Windows Defender is anti spyware - is this correct? In fact I was in Zimbabwe last week and did the same with 15-20 workstations there too, which replaced one of the free ones in use. I have to say that alarm bells went off like crazy as soon as MSE was installed. It picked up all sorts and cleaned them. It is however essential that you re-scan after cleaning, just in case something is hidden in the System Restore files which are protected. If so, you need to clear System Restore, re-scan, and re-activate System Restore. But that's a small price to pay for system security. I have generally been warned off this software as a Jaws user. Has anyone got any comments on the combination of Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows Defender and Windows Firewall from an accessibility point of view? Second question - is MacAfee still not a good option for a Jaws user? The guy has Jaws 12.
