Dear Robert and anyone else interested I've just notice that you are using an Italian email service from an Italian address. I'm wondering if you could give me any advice about working with Italian on my PC. I'm actually a retired lawyer, but study Italian at the local university purely for fun. I'm now doing final year courses but wouldn't rate my ability as that much higher than what I remember as A level. I can read Italian quite well, but my listening isn't all that good and my speaking is even worse. I can just about manage to understand Jaws's Italian if the text is easy or familiar and I set the speed to about half my normal rate, but, when looking at Italian sources, I always reach for my braille display. It is quite annoying, however, listening to Jaws reading the Italian as if it is English. Is there any really convenient way of toggling quickly between the two languages depending on which one predominates on any particular page or website? It would be even better if you could have a program which knew which words belonged to which language.
