Hello Sandra,
You can find everything you need in the property sheet of your local drive,
hold down the alt key and press enter, you will be in the general tab and
while here change to jaws cursor and read down the list, you should find
used space, free space and capacity, the number before the word billion is
the amount of gb which might make it easier to understand.
If you return to pc cursor you can move to the tools tab, press the tab key
until you find defragmenter and press enter, then tab to a defragment button
and press enter, the program will analyze the disk first and prompt you
whether or not you want to continue with the defragmentation.
I'm doing all this from memory as I am no longer using Windows 7, so I hope
my instructions are fairly accurate, apologies for any inaccuracies you may
find.

Hello Everyone,
I'm so sorry for the blank message. My finger slid sideways to enter
when I was searching for the closing bracket.
I have had issues with space on my laptop's C drive. A couple of weeks
ago, it said I had insufficient space for such and such a file. I
deleted an awful lot of data and, while it was in the repair shop,
(for something else), they got rid of 40 GB. I don't know how to find
out how much space I have used and how much I have left. Is there a
set of Jaws keystrokes for this? (I'm using Jaws 13 on Windows 7).
I've been doing a lot of backing up and have found multiple copies of
the same thing and deleting but I don't know if what I'm doing is
making much of a difference.
Also, if you don't mind me changing the subject slightly within the
same thread, how do you run Defragmenter? I was looking this up on
Microsoft's website but once getting beyond Programmes and system
tools, landing on the right thing sounded mousy. Are there any Jaws
friendly keystrokes for this too?
