Dunno about doing it yourself, but the point of PDF files is that they can't, theoretically, be edited. This is one of the main reasons for using them - people could modify an ordinary word or text file and then start arguing. -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dorothy Ingram-Gorban Sent: 02 May 2008 18:56 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Making a Pdf yourself Hi List I was doing some filing and came across an old email of March last year it contained a PDF invoice This was a 1 man business not the company who cleaned off my laptop end of last year. Man who came in March had to reset my Wireless connection which kept failing, He called himself Computer Guru. He charged me I see £120 in all and then he had to comeback as it still dropped. I paid him cash, another time I would only say send me your bill and I will pay by cheque However I digress, he did eventually send me an invoice and it was in PDF form I was not used to them at the time and asked him why. He replied" it is proper business practise all my invoices are sent in PDF. Now as mentioned he made a second visit and he looked at my Epson perfection scanner and said"you could write a PDF yourself. Now question is how many of you do this and is it standard business practise What in his very poor English he was trying to say is the bill couldn't be tinkered with any thoughts?
