thanks Kevin, as you see I have replied to John, and I do recall there were other issues at the time for a Rnib man to be worried, I only recall his name was Martin and he lived near East Grinstead, so the origin of Real Player would-be interesting I think perhaps it was a deal with an American Company or perhaps not I am trying hard to remember Dorothy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Morris" <drewdog101@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi Dorothy and rest of list,

I haven't used Real Player on my XP desktop for a while but when I get
home this evening (or over the weekend) I'll try it and let you know
the results.

Regards,

Kevin

Hi Dorothy, I think the main thing about real alternative, and the same
applies to kwiktime alternative is that in both cases the full player tends
to nag you a lot, and bombard you with news and alerts and whatever, when
all people want is to use it to play media files. The real and kwiktime
alternative programs are the necessary components to play the media files
without the unnecessary bits.

Jaws and navigating to various wWebsites that Function with Jaws Jaws !

Hi all,

I've just used the "Listen Again" facility on the BBC website to catch
up with the "In Touch" programme which was broadcast on Tuesday. Using
I-Player I was able to play, pause and restart without any problems.
I'm using Jaws 9, Windows Vista Home Premium and Internet Explorer 7.
Having seen the postings on the Jaws List, I expected to have all
kinds of problems which do not, in fact appear to have materialised.
Perhaps I've just been lucky.

Regards,

Kevin

Hi Wendy and list
Is it just me or did something go wrong with the BBC Radio pages
sometime
ago. I know they had technical problems altogether for a while but I
never
had any trouble using the site with JAWS previously, but ever since it
has
become unbearably slow and pretty much unusable. I've mentioned this
here
before, but nobody really said much, which made me think it was just my
antique version of JAWS.

Glad this subject has come up.

Cheers

Amie

  Graham

The problem now is that the new BBC Iplayer means that accessible
listen
again won't work any more. If you have a look, you will find that many
of
the stations have now gone. Alastair King is working on this problem to
provide an accessible form of the new player. I am also not sure
whether
Realplayer or Real Alternative will work with the new system.

I use Accessible Listen Again which is part of the Webbie sweet of
programs. this is accessible with JAWS and other screenreaders and can
be
downloaded from www.webbie.org.uk where you can also get more
information.

  Hi, Folks,

I've never had problems in the past listening again to BBC radio
programmes, but now I'm being told I should either enable Java or else
use
real player. How do I know whether Java is enabled? Real player tells me

it
doesn't have the software to support the programme.

Can anyone help please? Sorry it's off topic.

  Best wishes,

  Joan.
