I suspect Google has changed its webpage to include landmarks. JAWS has been telling me about Yahoo! landmarks for some time now.

Leonie,

That is useful, but why have they suddenly appeared, or just started being
announced?

The only thing I can think of which I changed in the last day or so was a
couple of microsoft automatic updates? I wonder if that has caused Jaws to
tell me about landmarks. I remember doing a microsoft update and jaws was
silenced as a result.

They're another way of navigating to different areas of a page. You
can use the semi colon key to move between them. More information here:

I don't think it's possible to stop Jaws announcing them. I've had a
quick look through the configuration manager and haven't spotted anything
likely at least.

Hi List.

Over the last day or so I've noticed that, especially on Google, JAWS has
started telling me how many landmarks are on a newly loaded page.

Does anyone know what I've done to turn this announcement on? Because I'd
like to turn it off again.

That's JAWS 10 BTW.

Thanks.

Darran
