Hi Dorothy,

There are settings in the Outlook express options to ignore certain items in
an E-mail as far as spell checking is concerned.

1. When in Outlook express, press alt+t for the tools menu.

2. Press o for options.

3. Press control+tab until you hear "Spelling page".

4. You are now in a dialogue which, among other items, includes check
boxes to ignore certain items from the spell checking. These are Words in
upper case, Words including numbers, Original text in forwards or replies
and Internet addresses respectively. I have all of these checked to avoid
spell checker from reporting on them. You change the status of the check
boxes by pressing the space bar.

5. Having made any changes as required, tab to the ok button and press
enter.

I hope this helps,

Phil Medway

sorry I cannot help you but if others are working on your problem with the
spell-check .
Perhaps mine needs a similar fix on my laptop not my Desktop . What
happens is this I do a forward for example , and I do not hear the word
Edit , this using Outlook Express Jaws 8 so Have to overtype Jaws
speaking to get into to the To message area . Next I type a reply and
use the Spell-check what happens is the spell check offers a spell
correction for my typed response but instead of stopping at that point Jaws
goes on giving spell fixes for the message I am replying to.
surely this should not happen as it will alter the integrity if I
accept of the message I am either replying to or the forward I am sending
on. Does Jaws or is it Microsoft check everything on the screen then? I
am using Office 2002 OE Version 6.

Thanks for any help an
Dorothy Ps the clocks altered on my computers by themselves they
always do
