Nor does it (in ME, and probably not in XP) require a reboot to get the
changed keyboard-language setting to effect.

But you can change (with radiobuttons) the alt-shift key combination to
ctrl-shift, or none at all.

The ALT SHIFT combination definitely toggles between English UK and US,
so
this might be the preferred method. From ;past experience, It'll more
than
likely require a Windows re-start for the changes to take effect. HTH

Go into Control panel, Start menu Windows key, s, enter. Now hit k for
Keyboard, and enter. You are probably on the Speed tab (blame Microsoft
for
that one, not the drug!!!) Shift-tab, rightarrow, to get to the
language
Tab. tab through the ensuing dialogue, and choose your options. You
can
add/remove keyboard languages easily; just a restart of the computer,
etc.,
for which you will be prompted, if you choose to do that. You can also
elect to have a keyboard shortcut or no shortcut, to change keyboard
languages.
