Tristrum,
Well my idea would free up the shift keys.

Thanks,
Nigel
It's not what Operating system you use, it's how productive you are with it.

Don't really know what is wrong with the shift keys to be honest once you
know what they do. You would no more easily know what R and Q would do if
you weren't told, besides you might want to use these keystokes for some
other document navigation feature in future.

This would be similar to cue and review on a tape deck while in reading
mode. I like the idea but I think it should be a different key, perhaps on
the number pad or even the letters q and r respectively. Yes, I know cue is
spelled with a c but the position on the keyboard is easier with q.

Just wanted to mention a possible interface idea. Has freedom and or other
screen reader vendors ever considered using the up and down arrow keys to
move up and down a line and keep reading when in reed all mode. In the case
of Jaws this would be instead of the shift keys.

I think this would be more intuitive for a new user to learn.

Thanks,
Nigel
