Hi Dorothy,

Many thanks for your reply. I'm understanding things a little better now.

Best wishes,

Keith

Keith, black on black happens at times,Jaws will read any print there but

to a sighted person it is an invisible Email. but if highlighted it can be
read by any person. I know this problem well, and had to use another
programme to invert the screen to high contrast black and then the print was

white on black. Just try to make sure you are not using black on black with

Subject: [jaws-uk] Jaws behaviour in an Outlook message

I am using Jaws 10 with XP Home, and Outlook 2000

I subscribe to Friends Reunited, and had an e-mail from them a few days ago.

At the top of the message I read the sentence:

"You have unread messages waiting for you".

As I wasn't quite sure what I had to do on the site, I left things until my
son came this evening.

I brought the message up, and he said he couldn't see the top line of it
which told me I had unread messages.

I told him it was definitely there, and proved it by copying and pasting it
into a Notepad file.

On interrogating Jaws, in the e-mail message, Jaws said there was no font,
and the colour was black on black.

So, I am wondering why I could read the line with Jaws, but my son couldn't
see it.

Anyone any ideas, please? I wouldn't have thought it was a case of my still
using Outlook 2000.

With best wishes,

Keith
