More new features without addressing any of the basic problems with the
program. We need better interpretation of HTML, identification of more types of
web page elements and the whole thing is just getting too large and overblown.
It is a close call whether NVDA or JAWS will be the screen reader of choice for
the foreseeable future. At present I think JAWS just about has it but I am
keeping a copy of NVDA to deal with some of JAWS' failures.

I've just listened to a Jaws podcast about Jaws 18.
Eric Damerey was disparaging about the merge feature that Jaws had up to and
including Jaws 16, though I've always found it did the job.
As you know, version 17 dropped this feature, but Jaws 18 will
reintroduce it, calling it Migrate. It seems to do the same thing, but
it won't work to migrate anything from before Jaws 17....
I've been using Jaws 16 until now, hoping the merge feature would get
included in the updates, but no luck, so I'll have to bite the bullet
and do all the tweaks to Jaws from scratch.
Thought some of you might like the above information, disappointing
though it is.
