Hi Barbara, I think Jaws 7 has done strange things like that with me.
Assuming you can remember the key strokes, have you tried shutting Jaws
down, rather than the whole machine.
I have a Jaws shortcut on the desktop so:
Insert+F4 followed by Enter to shut down jJaws.
Windows key + M to minimise everything and put you on the desktop.
J will then put you on the Jaws shortcut, and Enter will activate it... with
luck.

Hi,
Don't know if anyone can help me solve a rather infuriating problem. I have
just recently installed Jaws 7.0 and it works for a while, then suddenly it
will stop speaking, the only way I can get it to speak again, is to shut
down and reboot, although this is a little inconvenient, it has, as yet,
caused no real problem, but I have my next OU assignment due soon, and I am
concerned that this strange behaviour, might occur during writing my
assignment and before I get chance to save it. I have tried using the hot
keys, but to all intents and purposes, Jaws is still running, it just isn't
speaking, hope someone can throw some light on this.
