Joan, I gather that you've managed to sort out Java, but just to say that I
have had this message from iPlayer in the past. So far, all I have needed to
do is close it then open it again once or twice, and the message goes away and
it plays.
Unfathomable thing, software!

I know it's off topic but I'm having problems with the I-player. It keeps
telling me to turn on Java. I haven't a clue where it is or how to turn it on
but at the moment I am unable to access some programmes.
I mean, maybe I don't actually have Java installed?
