Robin, My home computer is doing something similar to what you are experiencing but my suspicion is that it may not be related to Jaws. I tried to go to the page with Jaws turned off and it doesn't play the tune on either your site or Tom's. It does, however, play on the sheep site that Tiddy mentioned. Having looked at the page coding on your site, Tom's site and the sheep one that Tiddy mentioned, there certainly seems to be a difference in the way that the tunes have been coded to play. Your site and Tom's both look similar but the one Tiddy mentions uses the "bgsound" tag which may be why it plays and yours both don't. This doesn't explain why your site and Tom's don't play. I wonder if there is an Internet Explorer setting that is blocking this kind of audio? Hopefully someone else will be able to put their finger on the root cause. Acer Ferrari Laptop, jfw9, Realtech built in audio system, loads of Ram. On my website at www.scottishblindgolf.com and Tom's www.whitestick.co.uk we've got a short wav file in the head section of our homepage html that plays for a few seconds as you open the site up. On this laptop, these wavs don't play, jaws kicks in fairly quickly and announces the website name and heads off into reading the contents of the page etc as you'd expect. Clicking on wavs mp3's etc around the web, they play no problem, so any ideas why jaws stifles these on our websites? It's like the sound card isn't getting the time to output the wavs and big bully jfw is taking precedence? Not life threatening, but one of those puzzzlers.
