All 3 applications are independent of each other and can be configured as s= uch. Notepad and Wordpad are very basic and do not have the range of featu= res that Word has. If Jaws is struggling to read properly, it could be a p= roblem with the graphics card in your computer, so if you can find out what= it is and let the list know, we may be able to check if there are any know= n problems. Would a change in Word affect how JAWS operates in=20 Wordpad and Notepad? Thanks. Go into the "view" menu and set document view to "normal" by pressing enter= =20 on it in the menu. When you have done that go back into the "view" menu an= d=20 locate "Zoom" and press enter, then press down arrow for 75 percent and=20 press enter. Now try reading the document, this usually helps. There is no Jaws 7.5, if you do the following you will be able to report th= e=20 exact version number. 1 Press insert+J for Jaws window. 2 Press alt+h for "help" and then A for "about" Jaws. You will have the version number read out to you on the next screen. Regards. So sorry if this has been discussed in-dept= h=20 before. I'm using JAWS 7.5, and I've noticed it has a problem in Wordpad and=20 Notepad that I only noticed in Word with earlier versions. I updated my=20 version of Windows when I upgraded to JAWS 7.5, so I don't know if that has= =20 anything to do with it. After I start doing word processing and other tasks like cutting and=20 pasting or using the 'find' facility, it stops reading properly. It reads a= s=20 if it's missing syllables or letters out. Sometimes, it even misses out=20 whole lines. Yesterday, I was doing something where I had to cut and paste = a=20 lot, and it started reading only one word on each line sometimes. If I=20 cursor back or forward letter by letter, it says blank where the letters it= =20 should be reading are. I can make it read allright for a little while for some reason by saving= =20 the document, selecting text, or sometimes refreshing the screen and=20 maximising the document. But it soon goes back to the way it was before. Recently, someone sent me instructions on how to optimise the display=20 settings, system settings and task bar and start menu settings for screen=20 readers. I made a few changes, but nothing helped. In fact, if anything,=20 it's worse. So do you have any advice on what I can do? Thank you.
