Hello again folks.

Well I still havent had any luck with accessing e-bay since the new forms have been adopted. I have been in contact with customer support who inform me that the e-bay site is run on a java platform and to install the latest JRE, their instructions are as follows:-

Please note that you will have to download and install the latest Java
on your computer. To download Java, please follow the link below:

Next, there are a few settings on your browser that you may want to
check. These settings are sometimes different than would be needed for
other, more static, web pages. You will want to enable Java, SSL 2.0 and
SSL 3.0. So, open up Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then the Internet
Options menu and check/enter the following:

On the Security tab:
1. Under Security level for this zone, click on the Custom Level button.
2. Scroll down to Java Permissions and choose either Low, *Medium*, or
High Safety.
3. Scroll down to Scripting and enable Active Scripting and Scripting of
Java Applets. Click on "OK".

On the Privacy tab:
1. In the Settings area, make sure that the slider to select a privacy
setting is no higher than Medium.
2. Click on the 'Advanced' button then check the box to select 'Override
automatic cookie handling'. The greyed out boxes will now become active.
3. Under First-Party Cookies and Third-Party Cookies click Accept, and
then check the box to select Always allow session cookies. Click "OK".

On the Advanced Tab:
1. Scroll down to "Microsoft VM" (This option may not appear if you have
latest updated browser). Check all the three boxes which are 'Java
Console Enabled', 'Java logging enabled' and 'JIT Compiler for virtual
machine enabled'.
2. If you do not see "Microsoft VM" then scroll down to "Java (Sun)" and
check the box next to the "Use Java 2" version
3. You will also need to scroll down to "Security" to enable SSL 2.0,
SSL 3.0. Make sure they are checked.
4. Scroll up to find "Browsing" and make sure that "Disable Script
Debugging" check box is enabled.
5. Click OK to save your preferences.

Well I've followed these instructions to the letter and stillcannot get to the 'description' field on the form.

Can anyone advise, should I have the java access bridge installed, and if so where can I find the latest version?

Yours hopefully
Martin

Hi folks

I haven't put anything up for sale for a while but over the last couple of days I have tried. I think that the form for sellihng has now been upgraded - the dreaded word that can cause lack of access in my experience. I cannot seem to navigate to the description edit area. I keep going round and round but no way can I find out how to enter my text. Can anyone give advice on this.

I'm using jaws 8, Internet explorer 6 and windows XP.

Thanks
Martin
