Have a look if there is any software associated with the sound card in the =
computer and start it up. You may find effects settings that may have been=
inadvertently applied. This has happened to me on my home PC

Barbara.
Make ssure you are in Classic View for Control Panel.You should be able to
Tab to thiss view and then press Enter.
You can then find Sound Effects Manager by arrowing down to it. It is almost
at the end of the list, so you need to arrow a long way. Enter on it and the
first tab should be Enviroment . Make sure the box says None and then Tab to
O.K. and Enter.
You can find it in Category View , but it needs quite a lot of looking for.
