Thanks Graham
It all sounds encouraging, although not sure how to take this "it's not as bad as everyone says" angle. Guess I'll soon find out.
Cheers
Amie

to add to this, the search box is the first thing you get to when you go to
the start menu.

Amie, the only thing I have done is take off Word 2007 and put word 2003 on and it still works quite well with Vista. You may want to have sighted help with you when you first install jaws and when you first try to use vista, it
is different but I think better than xp. there are very few menues and
mostly in tree view but the best thing is type in the search for where ever
you want to go whether it is on your computer or on the web, this is very
laborous at first but once you typed something in several times the computer
remembers and you end up just typing a couple of letters just to get the
places you most frequently visit, e.g. wo for word, hot for hotmail, ya for
yahoo etc. If you decide to stay with office 2007 make a note of all the
things in your xp word menues and the key strokes you need to get to them
because they only work on first letter navigation in 2007, good luck with
vista it is not as bad as many people think
