Long ago there were some scripts for Pegasus Mail which emerged as third party
development. Jaws never directly supported the software though and whilst I
remember in distant days using the software I don't remember it well. I seem to
remember that the message listview was a multi-select list box. In this
situation focus may be on a message header but it is not selected, pressing
spacebar will actually highlight what youare sitting on. Try pressing spacebar
after deleting, see if this is an acceptable workaround.

I use Windows XP, an Apollo 2 synthesiser, an Alva 380 braille display, and
have recently installed JAWS 7.10. I use PMMAIL for e-mail.
In previous versions of JAWS I could press the <Delete> key to delete a
message and the subject line of the next message in the box would be spoken.
This
no longer happens.
I do not know very much about scripting. I have checked the script files for
JAWS 7.0 and 7.10 and can find nothing to show why this no longer works. There
are no specific scripts for PMMAIL.
If anyone can shed any light on this, I would be interested.
