I really couldn’t disagree more. Windows Live Messenger is perfectly usable
with JAWS 12.

Hello Jon, my name is Daniel. I will tell you my experience Basicly I had
Windows Live Assentials 2009 if this is the version that you have then I
strongly advise you to stick to it at least for now because, when I upgraded to
the 2011 version, mainly for the benifit of the so called facebook chat
intergration with this newer version is why I upgraded. I then found that it
wasn't useable at all with Jaws. Not to mention the do away of the menu bar
which has now been replaced by the ribbons that are placed in other microsoft's
programmes. Also I lost all of my contacts in the process I didn't have one
single person in there when I upgraded to the latest version. I was panicking
for a bit and for a while I couldn't find a file for the old version on the
internet to download and go back to. But now that has all been done. In genral
I have a 100% bad experience so I am going to stick with the older version at
least until FS do some work on the new one.

Just out of interest I am cureious when you try to send a message with the 2011
version did you get a dialog box saying something like "unable to open this
message" and an OK button. If so could you resolve it and if you could I would
love to know what did you do to achieve this. Because When I got this box I
couldn't even start a new email message which was a nightmare.

Anyway that's my bad experience people might have some good experiences with it
but alass not me so far. I hope you get some good answers.

Regards

Daniel

Subject: [jaws-uk] JAWS 12.0.522 and Windows Live Essentials 2011

Hi folks,

I'm new to the list and would like to know if anyone using JAWS 12.0.522 with
Windows Live Essentials are experiencing any problems?

A little while ago when I was running 12.0.512 I had notification of a Windows
update which was the Windows Live Essentials 2011. Having downloaded and
installed it, I found it didn't work very good with JAWS, in fact I hated
trying to use it. I uninstalled it and reinstalled Windows Live Mail and
Messenger version 9.5 and everythings been great.

I know chances are that there are security issues that have been resolved in
the 2011 version, but I don't really want to go through the
install/uninstall/reinstall like I did a wee while ago. I've just checked the
updates and enhancements page of JAWS now that the 12.0.522 update is out, but
there's nothing specifically there that mentions WLE 2011.

Any comments, advice, thoughts, etc would be very much appreciated.

Best wishes to all,

Jon
