Graham,

Do you only get WEP even with the pro version or are you just using the Lite
version?

Regards,
Barry

Yes tristram. I use JoikuSpot sometimes and it works quite well. You only
get WEP security rather than WPA but when you are out and about and not at
home this is normally fine. Using Joikuspot may not be so good if your
mobile is your prime broadband connection. There is aan alternative called
Walking Hotspot I believe which I think lets you limit connections to
particular Mac addresses which should provide more security.

On the JAWS front I would recommend the upgrade to version 11.0 if possible.

Some say they have got by with JAWS 10 but I really don't believe it is a
long term goer with Windows 7.0.

On the broadband dongle front the most accessible I have come across is the
Vodafone one (or at least the one I brought). Other providers such as Three

have similar although they don't seem to be as accessible. This seems to be

more a function of the software they come with (as they are mostly the same
model used by different providers). I brought mine as a pay as you go late
summer last year for about £34. The only thing about this I am not so sure
about is Windows 7.0 the last time I tried mine with Windows 7.0 things did
not seem to work that would be something to check out.

You may still even with the Vodafone effort need to use the JAWS cursor from

time to time but it is far from being inaccessible. Another route is using
your mobile phone as a private wi-fi hotspot using its GSM connection using
something like Joikuspot. I am less familiar personally with that myself
but I now others have used this setup with success.

Regards.

Subject: [jaws-uk] JAWS 10 AND WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM

Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium
and wish to know whether it works well with Jaws 10 (my SMA did not
extend to Jaws 11).

Also, I'm considering using mobile broadband. Does anyone know whether
the various dongles, on the market work OK with Jaws? I should imagine
that there should be no problems but I have no experience of mobile
broadband (other than on my mobile phone)!

Many thanks,

Kevin
