The general advice here is the following: 1 Press alt+V to enter into the "View" menu and activate "Details" listview type by pressing ENTER on it. This gives you an easy up/down navigation but in addition it also provides extra file information in columns to the right of the file name. 2 Having made the adjustment above you can use the keystroke JAWSKey+Up Arrow which will not only read the highlighted filename but also other details. 3 For Windows 7 users there is an additional benefit to making the adjustment descried in step one above and that is that if you just press the right arrow you can work through the succeeding columns of the details view as if it was a data grid, just remember to go back to the left where the filename is if you do not want to hear all the information for a file every time you navigate up or down the list. 4 Finally, press ALT+ENTER on a highlighted item and you can then press JAWSKey+B to read the dialogue box that contains the file properties information. All of the above works practically for any JAWS version (excluding the Windows 7 bit of course which is JAWS 11 upwards). Hope this helps. Regards.
