Hi Shirley,

There is certainly no need for you to type things out again and you can deal
with the issue in a number of ways.

Are you aware of the fact that you can have more than one spread sheet in
each workbook? If not, this might be a really good way of gathering all the
data for one year into a single file. Essentially you can have any number
of spread sheets in a workbook though the default is normally 3 I think. You
could , therefore, have a sheet for your income, a sheet for your
expenditure and then a separate sheet for each of the monthly VAT returns.
You can then get clever and summarise the monthly data on a summary sheet
and have this updated automatically.

Alternatively, you can select and then copy and paste data from one spread
sheet into another sheet, either in the same workbook or in another workbook
altogether. If you do this, you need to be very careful where you paste the
incoming data as it will overwrite data in the receiving cells if you paste
in the wrong place.

It's a bit too much to describe the above on list but, if it would be
helpful, please contact me off list and I'll try to help. My email address
is :

Regards,

Jamie

Hello Jamie,

Thank you for responding to my question.

I will explain further what I want to do.

I have a small business, my accountant likes to have all my purchases and
sales listed on one spread sheet.

Each 3 months I do my VAT return on a separate spreadsheet.

What I would like to do is to put all of the details from each VAT
spreadsheet into one!...

this will save me a great deal of time, having to type out everything again.

I hope that makes things a little clearer.

Kind regards,

Shirley.
