It wasn't your fault Barry. The homepage address appears as the address for
all of the pages as far as I can tell.
Tink is our guru concerning HTML etc. but it appears that each page is being
redirected and placed in a frame.

I'm sorry, Tink. The problem was not on the home page but on the useful
links page. I thought I had pasted the URL to that page but, obviously, I
did not.
I presume you have read the reply from George. I do think it is important
to draw their attention to the spacer image graphics. If you don't mind, I

I can't replicate the problem you are having and I can't find any
headings within the html code either. The designers appear to have visually
presented headings by simply using an enlarged font size, rather than using
the specific html code for marking up a heading.
I'm using Jaws 6.1, should this be a version issue. I can't see any
logical reason for this to happen, either with previous versions of Jaws or
any other. It's possible that some combination of the JavaScript and frames
used on the site is confusing Jaws, but this is only a very random guess at
the cause of this behaviour.
Another possibility is that much of the code isn't very well formed.
Html tags are opened but not closed properly. Ordinarily, this wouldn't make
much difference from the browser point of view, but it's something that
could be causing a screen reader some difficulty. Again, just another shot
in the dark.
One suggestion I would make to the developers of the site, if you are
able to contact them, would be to change the way they have given a text
description to their spacer images.
Spacer images are invisible to the onlooker, but because of the
accessibility guideline that says that all images must have a text
description, they are each being announced with the word, "spacer", to
screen reader users. There are many of these on the page, which is quite
time consuming to listen to. It is possible to hide these images from screen
readers as well as from visual users.
The code at the moment probably looks something like this, for one of
those images:
<img src="spacer.gif" alt="spacer" />
If they alter it to something like this:
<img src="spacer.gif" alt="" />
With nothing between the quote marks of the alt="" attribute, then those
images will become unobtrusive to everyone, whilst keeping in line with
accessibility guidelines.
