Valerie,
Open the Tools menu and choose AutoCorrect. Control + Tab once to the
AutoFormat as you type page and DownArrow to Automatic bulleted list and
Automatic numbered list. If either is given as checked, press SpaceBar
to uncheck them. Press Enter to close the dialogue. The setting should
be remembered for future documents.

Can anyone remember how to turn off the automatic numbering, etc. in MS
Word 2003 - JAWS 8.--- and XP home.
I know its very simple, when I can remember how to do it, but, having
typed a five page letter with numbered and lettered paragraphs and then
not being able to get the JAWS cursor to sit on the floating, unwanted,
bits, its so frustrating. Any help please to my works email:

As that's where the document is and I am either going to throw myself on
the floor and foam at the mouth or hurl the computer through the window
- only trouble is that the window does open so please, please, save both
my sanity and the office window, not forgetting any poor passers by who
are unfortunately to be in direct line of flight!
