I seem to find this problem occurs particularly when in tables. I use
Office 2003 and JAWS for Windows 6.2

Subject: [jaws-uk] Flakey spell checker

Hi there,

I think this was discussed a few weeks ago but I've noticed a similar
problem now on both my work and home computers and on several clients
machines as well.

Ever since I upgraded to Jaws 6, and then to 6.10 and 6.20, the spell
checker in both Word and in Outlook Express is very temperamental about
whether or not it is going to speak the word that is badly spelled.

I think that Tristram had suggested the usual tinkers with colour depth and
screen resolutions. I've tried various combinations with no clear or
significantly better results.

My work laptop is a Dell Latitude with Windows XP Professional, Word 2000
and Jaws 6.20.
My home laptop is a Toshiba Satellite with Windows XP Home, Word 2003 and
Jaws 6.20.

All the machines appear to have gone wonky since around Jaws 6 was
installed.

My question is whether the other person who had this problem ever come up
with a combination that worked reliably for them? Any suggestions from
anyone else also welcome.

Cheers,

Jamie
