This has been cross posted. However, if you are a JAWS user, and live in the general vicinity of Wiltshire, you could earn a few shillings to help pay the Christmas bills off. I found your details on the internet, and wondered if you might be able to help us. I appreciate that you are based in Northampton, but wondered if you might have contacts/customers more local to us that may be interested in taking part in our research. Any assistance you could offer would be very much appreciated. The details of are research follow: The Web Usability Partnership is a research organisation specialising in making our clients' websites more effective (more about us on our website http://www.webusability.co.uk <http://www.webusability.co.uk/> ). We undertake website testing for Government and private sector organisation websites and we recruit people to help test these sites. During early January we will be conducting accessibility research for a well-known online shopping website and are looking for blind and visually impaired people to help test the site. We need people who are experienced users of screen-reader technology (e.g. Jaws software) and use this to access the internet. The research is quite simple. It will involve attending our offices in Chittoe (Wiltshire), and spending approximately 1 hour giving feedback on the website. There's no prep work in advance, and no subsequent commitments. This research will be conducted at a pre-arranged timeslot - at a time convenient to the tester. This session will be recorded so that we can analyse the results following the research session, however your anonymity will be protected at all times. Why would anyone want to do this? Well: * We will pay for the time involved (£50) plus travel expenses * It will be helping to improve a website that should be valuable to other visually impaired people * And it's quite fun! If you could circulate this email to colleagues or members that might be interested I should be most grateful. Anyone interested in participating should contact me (beckie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and we can discuss further details. Many thanks Beckie May Beckie May Web Usability Partnership Ltd Tel: 01380 852000 www.webusability.co.uk The Old Church, Chittoe, Chippenham, Wilts SN15 2EL
