Catherine What version of Jaws/operating system are you using? I have tried specifiying row and column title reading on a spreadsheet for = the first time and after a few problems I have managed to get it working (u= sing JFW 7.0/Windows 2000). What does Jaws announce the column row ranges = are when you open the verbosity dialog?=20 Couple of suggestions, make sure you only have the diary and Excel applicat= ions open so alt + tab just toggles between them and use Windows d to get t= o the Desktop rather than Windows m,which minimises your open applications= and may explain why Excel has to reload its parameters. I've got a few problems: 1. I'm not able to get JAWS to read column and row titles. It seems to=20 behave inconsistently. I set title reading to both, and set the row and=20 column title ranges. It's hard to describe exactly what JAWS is reading=20 because I'm very tired of the problem and it just seems to be reading=20 different things when I do the same movements. Is this because there are=20 cells that span more than one column/row? 2. Because of not being able to get JAWS to read the column/row titles=20 automatically I press alt shift c or r to read them. This is working on my= =20 latest attempt but wasn't previously - and to my knowledge I haven't change= d=20 anything. Any ideas why? Before JAWS would often just stay silent. 3. I keep needing to switch away from Excel to my diary and back again.=20 Every now and then my computer/JAWS freezez when I try to switch back to=20 Excel. I wait for a bit, getting no response from JAWS, then I press=20 Windows m to get to the desktop which works, then I'm able to switch back t= o=20 Excel. Also, sometimes when I switch back I get the dialog which usually=20 comes when first opening Excel - where JAWS says "Gathering required=20 information. Ok button". Any ideas why this is?
