There should not be a problem, the desktop folder is just like any other
folder. There have sometimes been problems running installers from the
desktop folder (including Jaws some versions ago) but mostly it's not a
problem.

My general suggestion is create a download folder somewhere and then pop
everything into that, makes life a little more organised from the start.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Downloading Jaws 6.20 using Meta Products Mass downloader

Hi all,

I am trying to download the latest Jaws Update on an XP Home machine using a
dial-up connection. When I tried to download Jaws 6.20 update without using
a downloader, it seemed as if it was taking ages.

Therefore I installed a trial of Meta Products Mass downloader and as I am
writing this message I am downloading Jaws 6.20.

The problem is that I have asked the downloader to save the .exe file to the
desktop for ease of access.

What I want to know is will this cause a problem when running the .exe file
as it has not been saved to documents and settings?

If anyone can help with an answer and some advice on this, I would
appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.
