A general purpose intercept that could be used by all accessibility software
would be something like a holy grail idea, but one well worth working
towards. I doubt there is a technology problem, however it is most probable
that infighting within the within the A/T industry will at the very least
delay such an innovation.

is there ever likely to be a video intercept that works with all
screenreaders and magnification software so that they would all work with
one video intercept? This could even be shipped as part of the operating
system and then maybe the pen concept generally would have more wide appeal.
At the moment this is expensive and really useful in only a few very
specific situations and, with increasing pen drive sizes, it is hardly a
software miracle either.

Cheers

Since this is really of-topic, I'll put my twopence worth in, and suggest
that if you really want something that does what the Dolphin pen claims to
do, buy a Freedom key from Serrotek Corporation. It's half the price;
doesn't need a video intercept to run; you get much more memory in the key,
and you get the whole suite of Freedombox products. It leaves no trace when
unplugged from a Usb drive on its host computer. Etc, etc. If you want more
info, go to:
