Hi Robin I was playing about this morning and tried password protecting. When I tried to open again it let me without prompting for a password, is this because I was doing it on the same computer? What it's for is a friend who wants to give a floppy disc to work colleagues and only they are allowed to view the contents. They might be opening it on the same PC used to create it, so would this mean they wouldn't need the password? This would be a problem as the PC can be accessed by people who are not allowed access to the disc and could possibly gain access on that computer without a password? Am I making sense? What I think you need to do is password protect the actual files you've saved to the floppy. For word and Excel files, go to the tools menu and click on the protection... And you can then secure the contents of your files into a Read only format where the document can only be opened if the user has the password you have set. Creating documents in pdf format is another option but I'm out of my league when it comes to that stuff. Best ask the audience or phone a friend!
