Will try to tweet you... if I don't it'll be because I couldn't lol.
I can't find the reply on the actual page; that's the trouble. I can read
it in the notification email, but can't spot it online at all.
Will keep bashing at it and see what happens next.

I think, from mmemory, the buttons are listed below the tweet you want to
reply to. You need to press on the tweet options button below the tweet you
just read, and once you've pressed that button, arrow down to reply and hit
enter, then, the edit box should appear.

Oh Martin, here comes next question with my thanks and blushes for needing
to ask... I just tweeted and someone replied, but how do I get to their
reply please? I've the notification of the reply, but can't find replies
listed anywhere on the actual page. Mentions, direct messages and tools,
but where might I find replies to my tweets?
