Sorry to have to report that my attempts to use a DecTalk with a serial USB
converter failed completely. I have now passed on the synthesiser to
someone else, and have my doubts whether it works or not. Sorry I can't
help you with your problems.

Hi Wendy,

I see from another user list that you have used the dectalk express with a
usb serial converter (the prolific usb to serial converter).

I am using the same converter and have the following problem:

When I press tab or arrow around quickly, jaws says "ra 250" or dv ap 100.

Also speech seems slow and not very responsive.

Have you had these problems? Would it help to use a usb 2.0 converter (the
prolific one is usb 1.1)?

I would have thought that a serial device such as dectalk express would not
need more than usb 1.1.
