Dorothy, did I get that right, it is the laptop with the problem?
Does the laptop have windows XP?
If so, go to control panel, enter on display.
On the theme tab, what do you have as your theme?
On the appearance tab, what do you have for your scheme?
Also to set to plain text in OE.
Go the tools menu, options.
Control tab to the send tab.
Tab and you will find some radio buttons.
One for html and one for plain text.
I think alt P will get you to the radio button for plain text.

Thanks for that. i have had this problem so many times in O.E. at times
they have vanished completely, Imean the come intothe In bBox you barely
have time to read it and it is gone vamooshed. Tony Berry toldme nothing was
really gone,and he on a vist once put it right. It was like the dance oce
of the seven Veils now you seee it now you don't. Well it started to do this
last Friday after they upgraded Jaws from 4.5.1 I notice it at once I
didnot connect it with the Collapsed problem. Is there anyway in O.E it
can be set not to do this? I mean set firmly, it seems tobe a weakness of
OE. I only know I didnot make any adjustment. As for the laptop sending
White on white, butnot the desktop that willbe the text wont it. I wonder
if they set the laptop to Plain text. You see for jaws Users it makes not
difference but as I said to Andrew to a the sighted World it is like
receiving a letter in invisible ink. this applies if blackon black or White
