Thank you very much, Carol. The insert f7 will be very useful for a lot of
web pages, regardless of downloading.

Barry, if you're using JAWS try

1) list your links with INS+F7;

2) Tap the appropriate letter until the link is reached;

3) Tab once to "Move to link" and press "Enter"; then

4) Route JAWS cursor to PC;

5) Use JAWS right click.

6) See if you can locate the option you want!

Hi Phil

Thank you for your quick reply. However, it's not the actual format
that I
have problems with, it's getting the cursor focus on the link so that I
can
download it instead of openning it, even as a pdf document. It's not
just
pdf docs, it's any link to a file on the net.

Hi Barry,

PDF files are deliberately produced to restrict their being converted to
other formats.

If you have one of the more recent versions of the Adobe Acrobat reader,
You can usually save the document in text format once you have opened
it.

HTH,

Phil Medway.

Hi all

Using IE6, JFW5.1pro and XP sp2. When I want to save a download, such
as a pdf document link, and right click on the link, there is no *save
target as* in the drop down menu. The only way I can do this is to
press the space bar on the link, which starts to open the page, cancel
or close the page then the focus is on the link for *Save target as*.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Barry
