Dear Jamie,
many thanks for this. a while ago, RNIB sent me the way how to do it, because
the file is for me only, therefore there is no copy rights issue. However, I
will give it a go. many thanks for this.

Hello Muhammad,

I'm assuming that this is a full text DAISY book that you want to
convert to a Word format, rather than a Type 2 DAISY book which is a
structured audio book with audio only?  There are actually 6 types of
DAISY book but the most common are Type 2 - structured audio and Type
4 - structured full text and audio.

If so, what I would suggest is that you have a look at the structure
of the book folder.  If it is a full-text book, there should be a
bunch of HTML files in this folder.  Broadly speaking, you should be
able to open these files and copy and paste the contents into a single
or multiple Word documents and create your Word versions that way.

However, first I should make mention of the copyright issue.  I think
you need to be careful on this score, especially mentioning it on list!!
(Smile)

Secondly, there may be various copy protections built into the book
which prevents you doing what I mention above.

Lastly, depending on how the book was put together, you may need to
open multiple files to copy them one at a time e.g. one per chapter
would be quite common, so it might take a while.

It's been some time since I messed with DAISY books but I hope this helps.

Jamie
