you've got to turn off tutor messages in basic options so as not to hear the message voice telling you if there is a hotkey to perform the action you have highlighted. Personally, I leave this on as there are always hotkey combinations I forget and they are much quicker than trudging through menus when they work.

Hi Darran,Do you mean stopping Jaws from saying (control n) when you actually press this key combination to open a new message? You can set the Typing Echo to None from the Config Manager. But do you really wonna do this? Other than that, I've never come across a specific option to turn off such announcements in Jaws 8 nor earlier versions.
