Hi Danny,
May I suggest the following and sorry if it sounds so obvious
If you are worried that you may have altered your settings, I would just carry
out a repair on Jaws and this should restore the defaults and you can try
things again and see if it makes a difference.
Regards,
Ismail.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Confusion Following Jaws Upgrade
Hi Peter. Many thanks for the suggestion. I've had issues with trying to use
the SS Wizard on my laptop, which is actually one of the main reasons that I've
upgraded Jaws. When I used to load the software, it continually crashed almost
instantly. Even uninstalling and re-installing it didn't help. I understand
that it may be necessary to install it differently (in a different folder or
something like that) in order to get it to co-operate but I don't actually know
what the problem is or how to fix it.
Regarding the Jaws issue, I know what I'm looking for on SS so I can get around
it, but I'm concerned that the problems may be turning up due to incorrect
settings which might affect my ability to access other webpages. Of course,
I'd like to fix SS itself, but more importantly I'd like to solve any issues
that may be present and subsequently might be stopping me from fully accessing
web content.
Cheers - take care, Danny

If you upload to Sendspace on a regular basis, might I suggest that
you use
their wizard app, it is much easier than uploading via the web.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Confusion Following Jaws Upgrade
Hi everyone. Apologies in advance for the long and varied nature of
this message but, as I've just updated substantially and am confused
by a couple of issues, I'll be grateful for any help or ideas you can
offer.
My situation is that, having used version 14.0, I've now obtained
version 18 (the one that says "for home use" upon loading). I've been
mucking about with quite a few of the settings in order to see what
they do but I think I've returned any questionable ones back to their
defaults (apologies if this isn't the case and I'm unnecessarily
taking up your time). For whatever reason, I'm finding a couple of
behaviours which are different to what I've previously experienced.
Firstly, both on my emails (using the Internet Explorer web browser
and Gmail) and various websites (including www.sendspace.com ), I'm
finding that I'm unable to move upwards by using ctrl + up arrow, even
though ctrl + down arrow continues to manoeuvre me through content one
paragraph (or other element, such as a heading and form field
combination, an email with a tick box, etc) at a time. Is the
previous paragraph shortcut not available in version 18 or is it
possible that I've messed up a setting?
Secondly - and specifically in regard to www.sendspace.com (although
other websites may be affected... I don't know, as I don't know what
the issue is), I'm not seeing all of the information that was
previously displayed to me but I know that it's there. Upon selecting
a file to upload (pressing enter on the "browse" option and adding a
file in a similar manner to that employed when locating files in
Windows Explorer), I still get the edit field for a file description
and the opportunity to change the folder into which the file will be
placed. However, the link that is used for changing the latter no
longer says which folder is currently selected (it is, by default, the
"default" folder). If I click (by pressing enter) on the link, it
behaves as it previously did and allows me to view and select my
various folders from a sub-list, with each folder on a separate line
(presented as links), but when I return to the file upload form it
still doesn't tell me which folder has been chosen. Despite this,
using the Jaws cursor shows which folder is to be used, implying to me
that the virtual PC cursor information is not refreshing as it should.
This belief is further encouraged by the fact that, whereas it used to
change from the initial title of the webpage to a constantly-changing
update of the upload's progress as a percentage, the top line of my
webpages still show the original Sendspace heading with the virtual PC
cursor when a file is uploading. So again, have I changed a setting
that affects refreshing? I did uncheck the "screen tracks virtual
cursor" option in the navigation part of the web/HTML settings in
Settings Center, but as I've ticked it again and re-booted my laptop
with no change in the result, I'm unsure as to whether this is the
problem.
Anyway, I hope that the above information and queries make sense, and
I'll be grateful for any possible answers (or questions to help you
better understand what I'm talking about).
All my best, Danny
