You can never say any software is 100 percent but I think Microsoft have a good
package with MSE and I would be happy to recommend it such as it is. It is not
a full security suite by any means and if you are willing to buy something
along the lines of NOD32 or its security suite companion would be a good
suggestions.

The thing one hopes is that given Microsoft produced their operating system
they won't end up some day being guilty of the kind of clanger that the
corporate version McAfee and others have committed in the past by nabbing one
of the Windows core files in the anti-virus. These happen from time to time
and cause massive disruption when they do.

One thing about having an anti-virus that is not as belt and braces is to help
encourage you as a user to take better care. A human has far better judgement
than any software AV solution out there and if you are more careful vigilant
and install less random software you are likely to have fewer issues.

Regards.
