Dave,
I could be out of my depth here, but have you tried to tick the tick box
that says "use default devices only" in the audio page of the sound devices
settings dialog and see if that helps?

Hi All,
I currently use a VXI talkpro headset, plugged into a USB Buddy 5G. I
am having some trouble with access permission for the Buddy, and wish to
switch to using the onboard soundcard, for audio output. When I plug
the headphone plug into the soundcard, I hear nothing from JAWS. I have
checked the settings for sound devices, and audio output is set to the
pc's sound card, and microphone to the Buddy. In order to hear anything
from JAWS, I have to plug back into the Buddy. Are there settings in
JAWS, that need changing?
Any advice much appreciated.
